Free Audio Editor

Free Audio Editor is a Windows application for recording and editing audio. You can adjust volume levels, trim tracks and add effects. Direct recording from external devices is supported.

Recording

After opening the main window, you need to specify the source of the signal from which the sound will be loaded. It is recommended to set the desired volume level right away. It is possible to pause and resume recording. A separate option allows you to automatically remove periods of silence from the final file.

Editing

Individual sections can be conveniently cut out with the appropriate tool. Built-in filters allow you to change the frequency response for a unique sound. An equalizer with ready-made sets of settings for different situations is integrated, and there is also a manual mode. If necessary, the sound level can be changed on individual sections, which allows you to manually correct an unsuccessful recording. A separate panel contains available effects - delay, reverb, echo and others. For convenience, the original audio track is displayed in the interface in the form of a visual spectrum. Playback speed can be changed on a separate range, which allows you to get interesting effects. An algorithm for removing defects and noise is built in. After the work is completed, you should proceed to the stage of saving the file. A large number of formats are supported, including APE, AIFF and AAC. You can also select additional parameters available for the selected extension.
